Bio: Patrick Gontard has been in the medical industry for more than 25 years, in a variety of senior leadership roles across laboratories, hospitals, and professional medical associations. These roles have covered varying aspects of healthcare, ranging from purchasing and healthcare insurance to strategy, business development and lab and hospital business transformation.Dr. Gontard is currently the Group CEO of LabExa Group, the fourth largest medical diagnostics group in France and was the Group CEO of Citilab, the second largest medical diagnostic laboratory chain in Russia. At Citilab, he developed and implemented a Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) model, which has been applied in a laboratory setting to become an evidence-based, real-life management tool for calculating and controlling costs. Responsible for Citilab’s restructuring and management, including commercial and scientific leadership, his TCO methodology has helped to uncover and quantify hidden or indirect costs and deliver operational efficiencies and improvements in profitability. He utilizes the same approach to the LabExa Group.Dr. Gontard studied at the School for Advanced Studies in Social Sciences in St. Gall, Switzerland and the University of Geneva, Switzerland where he earned bachelor degrees in finance and law, respectively, specializing in quantitative risk models.
