Jane Hermansen

Bio: Jane Hermansen has nearly 35 years of clinical laboratory experience, but she knew she was going to be a laboratory scientist when she was eight years old. She has been at Mayo Clinic since 1988. She currently directs the laboratory outreach consulting program for Mayo Clinic Laboratories. Jane holds a B.A. in Medical Technology from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota and a Masters of Business Administration degree from the New York Institute of Technology.
Jane is currently the Past-President of the international Clinical Laboratory Management Association (CLMA) and has served on the Board of Directors since 2013. She has contributed to the laboratory industry by presenting at 150 state and national professional meetings, has written nearly 30 articles for industry publications, and has personally trained over 1,800 laboratory professionals in the art of customer service. Jane’s key areas of interest include quantifying and demonstrating laboratory value, expansion of laboratory services into traditional and non-traditional markets, and creating patient-centric laboratory services. Her professional experience includes clinical research, process engineering, consulting, training and facilitation and project management.
