Bio: Elizabeth Fassbender is Assistant Director for Economic and Regulatory Affairs with the College of American Pathologists (CAP). At the CAP, she leads issue identification, analysis, and policy development on a range of regulatory and legislative matters related to coverage and reimbursement. Prior to working with the CAP, Elizabeth was Manager of Health Policy and Communications with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. In this position, she was responsible for all legislative and regulatory communications as well as advancing health policy proposals. Additionally, Elizabeth has served as Director of Communications at Keystone Public Affairs and as an associate at Strategic Marketing Innovations Inc. where she developed and executed strategic communications and government relations plans. Her experience also includes work on congressional campaigns and in the offices of former U.S. Sens. Ben Nelson and Russ Feingold. A native of Madison, Wisconsin, Elizabeth received a bachelor’s degree, summa cum laude, in Communication Studies from Creighton University and a Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center. She was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 2017 and is an active member of the American Bar Association Health Law Section and Women in Government Relations Health & Social Policies Task Force.
