Bio: Ali Brown, MD, FASCP is the Medical Director of the National Pathology Quality Registry (NPQR). In her role, she works with ASCP volunteers and staff to create, maintain and expand the NPQR to meet the evolving performance improvement needs for laboratories, clinical practices and patients. In addition to her NPQR duties, she is a practicing pathologist in Jackson, Mississippi with experience in both academic and private practice. Her career has evolved from being a full-time surgical pathologist to focusing primarily on healthcare performance improvement and data analytics. She has been an active volunteer with ASCP for many years, and previously served as Resident Council Chair and Fellow Council Chair. Dr. Brown earned her MD from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, completed a combined anatomic and clinical pathology residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, and a surgical pathology fellowship at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. She was also the Susan G. Komen Interdisciplinary Breast Cancer Fellow at MD Anderson.
