John was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Joint Venture Hospital Laboratories effective January 7, 2013, replacing Jack Shaw who retired in 2012 after 16 years of innovative service. John has over 30 years of experience in the healthcare industry with a successful record in hospital and ambulatory based program administration and development; having held senior leadership positions in both the public and private healthcare sectors. He came to JVHL from the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine where he served as the Chief Administrative Officer for the Department of Surgery. John is an active member of the Board of Directors for the Washington D.C. based American Clinical Laboratory Association (ACLA), a leading laboratory industry trade association, where he serves as Treasurer. He is also a frequent speaker at national laboratory leadership symposiums such as the Executive War College. A Michigan native, John holds a Master of Science degree in Health Services Administration from Central Michigan University, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Systems Management from Lake Superior State University. He a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA).
